We have received a lot of positive feedback from our residents since we began building at The Ridge eight years ago. When people first arrive at our subdivision, many are surprised at the overall beauty and peacefulness of the area.
The Ridge Neighbourhood
The scenery is truly beautiful, with views of the ocean, the Comox Marina, the surrounding Beaufort Mountain Range and of course, the iconic Comox Glacier. We have seen trumpeter swans, Canadian Geese and bald eagles fly overhead. From time to time, we see deer wandering near our pond.
The generous layout of our roads and sidewalks is an invitation to all residents to come and explore. We have some of the widest sidewalks and pathways in Courtenay, making it a great place for biking, skateboarding and it is scooter-friendly. Take a tour around the area, or be adventurous and walk or ride your bike on the trail that leads directly to the Royston Seaside Trail or Millard Creek Park, located close by.
Quiet and Safe
There is no through traffic at The Ridge, as we are located off Comox Logging Road near the intersection of Buckstone and Fraser Roads in Courtenay, BC. When you drive here, you are coming home, not going through this area to go somewhere else. For this reason, it is very quiet as there is only local traffic.
Parents of young families have a feeling of confidence, knowing their children can play unsupervised at our large community park. This park has a very large grassed area and a play structure for younger children. This area is visible from many homes at The Ridge, making it easier to see your family members at a quick glance.
All street lighting in the subdivision is designed to “dark sky” standards. It is easy to look up at night to gaze at the stars from The Ridge.
Popularity of The Ridge is Growing
More and more people are finding out about this jewel of a community. Our residents are very friendly, making an effort to welcome newcomers to the neighbourhood. There is a sense of community among homeowners, as everyone begins to know each other. Often, we see people talking to their neighbours and pretty soon, the children become friends, the parents make new friends and the community is very dog friendly.
