Yes, 2020 was a challenging year and we are happy to report that many of our residents at The Ridge went to the extra effort to create a festive Christmas atmosphere for all to enjoy. The weather and the COVID situation may have been a little frightful, but the lights in the community made it so delightful! It seems almost every homeowner went above and beyond to make their houses and yards merry and bright. It was a pleasure to walk or drive around the neighbourhood to enjoy the festive holiday displays.
The first annual Christmas decoration contest was born this year when a few of the residents banded together and thought it would be a great idea to acknowledge those homeowners who decorated their homes and yards with such glee. They established criteria, then made a long list and whittled it down to a shortlist. In mid-December, they finalized the list into the category of Winners and Honorable Mention. We are pleased to announce the addresses of those who were acknowledged:
The Winners
- Tied for First Place: 3379 Harbourview and 4051 Buckstone
- Second Place. 4094 Chancellor
- Third Place – 4055 Buckstone.
The following 3 homes received an Honorable Mention.
3417 Harbourview
4059 Buckstone
4051 Chancellor
The residents from these homes were surprised and happy to receive a small gift towards their efforts as no official Christmas Lighting Contest had been declared. Now it is official! There will be annual lighting contests moving forward at The Ridge. It is an event that will bring out a friendly competition among the residents for years to come and promotes the community for everyone to enjoy.
We have seen the most colourful and bright Christmas decorations in 2020 at The Ridge. Thank you to all of the residents for lifting our spirits. We really needed that in 2020.
